Days 21-22 - TEXAS
Two things I learned while driving across Texas:
-If trying to stay awake behind the wheel, a solid punch to the ribs is more effective than a slap to the face.
-If you're ever in the total darkness of the Texas plains at 2 am, and have been driving for 11+ hours, DO NOT listen to "The End" by The Doors.
Special thanks to the Tweeds for lending their house in Austin. Can't say enough about how cool that city is. Thanks also to Dennis, Pam, Penny, Sox, and Buddy for a great time at Parrot Island in Scott, LA, the most exclusive club in the South. Thanks finally to Alicia for sharing part of the adventure - what was more harrowing, the gun rally in Houston, or the 115 degree car ride? Good times.

Another "behind-the-scenes"-type video; a story I've been meaning to tell.

the texas chapter of the NRA is and will always be more harrowing than the papal chariot. no question. and really, a few hours of 100+ degree driving conditions was a small price to pay to join you on this adventure :) i would do it again in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteMatt. Hilariously phenomenal story and experience.
