Two things I learned while driving across Texas:
-If trying to stay awake behind the wheel, a solid punch to the ribs is more effective than a slap to the face.
-If you're ever in the total darkness of the Texas plains at 2 am, and have been driving for 11+ hours, DO NOT listen to "The End" by The Doors.

Thanks also to Dennis, Pam, Penny, Sox, and Buddy for a great time at Parrot Island in Scott, LA, the most exclusive club in the South. Thanks finally to Alicia for sharing part of the adventure - what was more harrowing, the gun rally in Houston, or the 115 degree car ride? Good times.

Another "behind-the-scenes"-type video; a story I've been meaning to tell.
the texas chapter of the NRA is and will always be more harrowing than the papal chariot. no question. and really, a few hours of 100+ degree driving conditions was a small price to pay to join you on this adventure :) i would do it again in a heartbeat.
